I am a journalist living in the East Village, reporting and writing mostly about real estate for The New York Times. Polis — the ancient Greek word for city-state, a concept that is rooted as much in a sense of community as geographical boundaries — is a tribute to my adopted home town: the infinite, the inimitable, the iconoclastic New York City. On other pages there are links to my New York Times articles, a description of the book I’m writing, my photo essays, and more!
